The final operating-entity details will also appear in the paid membership agreement before any payment is requested.
Information we collect
The first-stage application may include your first name and surname, age, contact details, professional field, general location and suburb, gender, dating preferences, relationship status, time single, relationship and family goals, travel range, smoking compatibility, written application answers, one profile photograph, event interest, optional research interest and how you heard about us.
Identity documents and payment details are not requested during this stage.
Why we use it
- To receive and review your Founding 500 application.
- To understand cohort composition and whether the service can support your matching pool.
- To contact shortlisted applicants about next steps.
- To improve the service through aggregated planning and optional research.
- To send launch marketing only when you separately choose to receive it.
- To protect the waitlist and investigate suspected misuse or fraud.
Application messages, marketing and research
Messages needed to process your application are separate from marketing. Launch updates and research invitations are optional. You may withdraw either choice at any time without withdrawing your application.
Who may process the information
Access is limited to authorised Table for Two personnel and infrastructure providers needed to host the website and securely store applications and photographs. The site, its private application database and protected photograph storage are hosted through OpenAI Sites and its infrastructure providers, including Cloudflare. No applicant database or photograph library is made public.
Website analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregated visits, page views, referring websites, general visitor region and website performance. Cloudflare states that this service does not track individual visitors or collect or use their personal data. We do not use these analytics to create advertising profiles.
International processing
OpenAI Sites and its infrastructure providers may process information outside South Africa. Table for Two will maintain appropriate legal and contractual safeguards for applicable cross-border processing.
Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures will be used to protect applications, including restricted access, secure transmission, appropriate authentication, backups and an incident-response process. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Retention
An application will be retained only while it is needed for the founding programme, service launch, legal requirements or a related dispute. Unless a longer period is required or you become a member, the intended maximum is 12 months after the founding launch decision. Information will then be deleted or de-identified.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether Table for Two holds your personal information, request access or correction, object to certain processing, withdraw optional consent, unsubscribe from marketing or request deletion. Email hello@tablefortwo.co.za.
Complaints
Please contact Table for Two first so the concern can be investigated. You may also contact the Information Regulator South Africa.

The service and application are for adults aged 18 and over. Table for Two does not knowingly accept applications from children.
